Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full into His wonderful face,
And the things of earth
Shall go strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
These are beautiful words with a simple but succinct truth.
Turn your eyes upon Jesus
When troubles hit us, and our minds are filled with doom, gloom and confusion, gravity and grief can block out our vision of Jesus. Fixing our eyes on the Lord Jesus seems to be impossible as some issues can have us worried and up all night.
Look full into His wonderful face

Turning to God in times of utter devastation will enable His peace to flood our wearied and wounded souls, giving us strength to cope with the coming days. Whatever you are going through know this, He is with you and will never leave you. Jesus walks with you through the dark valley of the shadow of death and will lead you into the light of a new day. So, don’t give up.
And the things of earth
Shall go strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace
One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple.
Psalm 27:4
When my marriage ended I suffered terribly from anxiety and depression. At that time of crippling anguish I learnt to purposely turn my eyes upon Jesus and behold His beauty and light. My one desire was to come away with Him and go deeper into His healing love.
I clung onto His garments and would not let Him go. He was not about to let me go either. Isaiah 54: 4-5 told me not to be afraid or to fear disgrace over my loss, but to embrace Him as my Husband.
As we gaze on the beauty of the Lord the things of earth will go strangely dim. I have learnt that the problems do not go away but in the valley of the shadow of death He walks with us, helping to resolve them. They do indeed fade in the light of His glory and grace.
