Many words have been prayed and many words written about prayer. There are many different types of prayer and ways to pray. At its simplest, prayer is talking to God, and allowing Him into our hearts. Most important to God is that we pray from our hearts, believing that He is listening. Unless we believe (even in a faint way) that God is present and listening to us, our conversation cannot really be called prayer.

certain place, and when he ceased, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.” And he said to them “When you pray, say:

“Father, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive every one who is indebted to us; and lead us not into temptation.”

The amazing truth is that Almighty God, creator of the Universe and of all things, this Mighty God is even interested in listening to our prayers. So interested in fact, that He invites us to come and talk to Him, to be ‘friends’ with Him way before we had such invitations on Facebook. He says in fact, that He wants to dwell in our hearts and make His home with us.

The pages of this website invite you to draw closer to a God that wishes to communicate His love, forgiveness and healing, to hear your prayers, to receive and grant your petitions. God invites us to an intimacy which is challenging. But be encouraged, although the journey of prayer is sometimes uphill, sometimes seemingly fruitless and sometimes silent, it is the most meaningful, rewarding and valuable things we can do.

Prayer is something we can always learn more about and we hope that this website will help you to do that. The best model for prayer is the one Jesus Himself gave His disciples (and us) when they asked Him how to pray. It is known of course as the Lord’s prayer and is a good template for any type of prayer. A good place for Your House of Prayer to begin.
